My thoughts and contemplations on the world of amateur radio

The road to airwaves

I am sure that most would be interested in how I got here.
If you found this website, you did so because the address is tied to my amateur radio call sign:

When I was growing up, just like any other boy, there was a period of “Walkie-Talkie” interest. It stuck with me, though it never led anywhere. During COVID-19 epidemic of 2020, working from home and getting bored from not being able to go anywhere, I got to spend a lot of time reading on the internet. Articles that talked about people being able to talk to each other over the air brought back those old thoughts and piqued my interest. One article led to another, one book led to the next one, and a few months later, in early 2021, I passed my Technician and General tests in one sitting.

Since then, I have succumbed to the GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) and forgot to concentrate on the continuation of expanding my newly acquired knowledge and skill. It has been 2 years since, and I am finally getting back into learning. I am working on my Extra ticket and hope to take the test this summer. I have acquired enough gear to last me a lifetime, or at least until the next bout of GAS hits 🤣, so for now it is learning and getting on the air.

Look for me on the air…
